Treibhaus 0.8 experiments with the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method.

All minds fully connected, galloping up the developmental ladder of life creatively on horseback – this is roughly how the trainees of the current Treibhaus year envision their professional future just before the end of their training as creative concept developers for live communication. They dedicated themselves to this topic in the proven 2-day Design Thinking workshop, hosted in the realms of the Berlin agency Insglück.

Challenge

“What could the agency of the future look like, where my work as a creative concept developer for live communication finds its optimal development and impact?”

A question that truly interested all participants intensely, and which they approached using LEGO bricks on the second day. Through mutual interviews, the concept developers explored the current state, for which they built individual models. In further rounds of questions, they uncovered their needs for future work methods. The models for the current state were transformed into ideas for the future in several steps, which finally merged into a large shared model of the agency of the future.

Lessons Learned

The need for a cooperative work culture with a lot of exchange, even between individual agencies, is particularly high. An appropriately creative environment plays an important role in this. As does a working time model that allows for a lot of flexibility regarding an integrated life. Additionally, there is a need for concept developers to be more closely involved in personnel decisions and thus in the self-organized development of their team.
